About

a Go-To waypoint command will place a waypoint on the screen/map that the aircraft will navigate to and loiter around.

The aircraft will continue to loiter until another command is received.

The pilot also has the option to change the loiter altitude when using the Go-To command.

How to Use

Waypoint Placement

Press/click/tap on the location on the map you want the aircraft to go to and loiter around.

A pop up will appear, select “Go to location”.

A way point will appear that says “Go Here”.

Change Altitude (Optional)

A change in altitude can be commanded at the same time as a Go-To is.

Use the slider on the right hand side of the screen to set a new altitude. The maximum altitude is 400ft and the minimum altitude is 150ft.

Note

The change in altitude command will take effect as the aircraft flies toward the Go-To waypoint.

Confirmation Slider

Use the slider to send the command to the aircraft.

Fly PHX will enunciate “hold flight mode” and the aircraft will begin to navigate towards the Go-To waypoint. Once it reaches the waypoint it will begin to loiter.

Continue Mission or Other Action

To return to the planned flight use the continue command and the associated slider that appears on the screen.

The other commands can be used subsequently without needing to return to the flight plan.

Note

The pause command will not be available.

When to Use

The pause command is useful for many reasons and should be used whenever the pilot feels they should.

Common uses are:

  • Avoiding local air traffic.

  • To keep the aircraft in a quickly identifiable are while performing other urgent tasks, such as adjusting the flight plan.

  • To watch a specific area via the live video stream.
