About

The PHX has several components that will wear out over the course of regular use. These components should be replaced when they are broken, damaged, or at the end of their expected lifespan.

Propellers

The propellers should be replaced if there are any cracks or chips larger than 1mm in diameter.

Propeller should be replaced if the tips or edges are worn down.

Flying with worn out propellers will reduce aircraft endurance.

Flying with worn out propellers can induce vibration and degrade imagery.

Spar Joiners

The spar joiner should be replaced anytime cracks or other such damage is found.

Flying with a broken or damaged spar joiner can lead to an electrical or mechanical disconnection of the wing in flight.

Pitot Tubes/Tips

The Pitot tube is designed for fast and simple maintenance.

The tip of the pitot tube can be removed and replaced without any tools.

Replace the Pitot tip anytime that it is clogged with dirt or debris, or if water/moisture has entered the tip.

Replace the Pitot tube anytime that it is showing signs of being clogged (past the replaceable tip) or signs of a leak (doesn’t hold pressure).

Wing Pins

The wing pins are designed to act as a shear pin and break if the wings experience excessive impact forces during landing.

Replace a wing pin if it is broken, disformed, or discolored.

Motor

A well maintained PHX will last more than 100 hours.

Replace the motor if it begins to make louder than usual noises or if damage is expected.
