About

The safety menu allows the pilot to change the geofence parameters and the data link loss failsafe activation timer. These maybe useful if you are operating the aircraft at long range or if there is datalink interference in the area of operation.

Both of these settings groups are reset to the shown default value every time the PHX is power cycled or rebooted.

Geofence Failsafe Trigger

The geofence for the PHX can be thought of as a cylindrical area that the PHX is constrained to operate in.

Modifying these values will change the size of the cylinder.

If the aircraft violates the geofence the geofence breached failsafe will activate.

Max Radius

Increasing the maximum radius of the geofence will make the area of operation larger.

Max Altitude

Increasing the maximum altitude of the geofence will allow the aircraft to fly higher before the geofence breached failsafe is activated.

Use in accordance with local and federal airspace regulations.

Data Link Loss Failsafe Trigger

The data link loss activation timer can be increased or decreased.

It maybe useful to change this timer if there aircraft will be out of range of the CommsBox connection, or if loss of communications is critical to operations.

Increasing the the activation timer is at the discretion of the pilot and may make locating, maintaining visual contact, or maintaining manual flight control with the aircraft difficult.
