Before Every Flight

These checks are generally accomplished by completing the pre-flight checklist.

Item

Check

Spar Joiner

Verify no cracks, chips, or other such damage.

Propellers

Verify no cracks, chips or other such damage.

Verify light friction with spinner assembly.

Control Surfaces

Verify control surfaces are responsive to movement once a GPS fix/home point is acquired.

Motor

Verify the motor spins freely with no rubbing or grinding.

Pitot Tube

Verify the Pitot tube is not damage, clogged, or leaky.


Every 20 Flights

Item

Check

Propellers

Inspect the propellers for wear and tear. Replace if the tips are worn down, the surface, lead, or trailing edges are no longer sufficiently smooth.


Every 100 Flights

Item

Check

Motor

Verify the motor is not unusually loud, loose, rubbing or grinding.

Under Belly

Inspect any wear and tear to the underside of the aircraft from landing during normal use.

Control Surfaces

Inspect the control surfaces and linkages.

Verify the surfaces are intact.

Verify the linkages are connected to the control horns and that they are not loose or sloppy.


Every 250 Flights

Item

Check

Batteries

Inspect the battery for any damage or swelling.

Airframe

Inspect the aircraft for cracks, holes, tears, delamination, separation, or other such damage.
