About
The RTK GPS used in the D4K RTK payload has it’s own firmware that can be updated.
Firmware is not regularly updated for this hardware. In most cases the firmware updates are not critical for operation of the system.

Place the PiksiMulti-vX.X.X.bin file onto a thumb drive, ensure it is the only file on that drive

Place the thumb drive into the USB slot on the RTK Backpack

Install the payload into the PHX

Power on the PHX

Let the aircraft and Payload boot, then wait 5 minutes for the firmware to be updated

Place File on Thumb Drive
Copy the downloaded firmware onto the slim profile USB thumb drive.
Insert Thumb Drive Into RTK Backpack
Insert the slim profile thumb drive into the RTK backpack USB slot.
Insert Payload Into Aircraft
Insert the payload into the aircraft payload bay.
Power Aircraft
Insert the battery to power the aircraft and payload.
Allow Update to Install
Allow the aircraft to remain powered for approximately 5 minutes while the update installs itself.
Power Cycle Aircraft
Remove the battery from the aircraft, then reinsert it to power cycle the system.
Verify RTK Fix
Setup the system as normal and obtain and RTK fix to ensure the update was successful.
