About

For optimal performance of the CommsBox follow the setup guide as closely as possible.

How to Set Up

Place in an elevated location if possible.

Providing the CommsBox (antenna) the best possible line of sight to the aircraft while in flight will provide the best possible performance and range of the system. Placing the commsbox on an elevated location such as the roof of a car, a tripod, or other such location is recommended.

Avoid trees, buildings, and other large objects.

Trees, tall crops, buildings, and other such objects can block/shade/degrade CommsBox and aircraft connection strength. avoid setting up near, underneath, or in line with such items when possible.

Avoid local interference.

Localized interference of the CommsBox signal can come from things like antennas, cell phone towers, or high voltage powerlines. This interference is otherwise invisible to the human eye and can be hard to identify. inspect the area you are operating in for such sources of inference and plan accordingly.

Don’t forget about the CommsBox.

The CommsBox is an essential piece of equipment for operating the PHX. Ensure that it is not left behind or in a location in which it can be forgotten, leading to loss or damage.
