Standard Operating Procedure
About
This article describes what a typical PHX flight is like. This is called the standard operating procedure or SOP for short.
Assemble
Check aircraft components for damage and replace any that are broken or damaged.
Assemble the aircraft.
Prepare and install the payload.
Assemble the CommsBox.
Set Up
Place the CommsBox.
Prep iPad/laptop.
Power On & Connect
Power on the CommsBox and connect to the iPad/Laptop via Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
Insert the battery into the aircraft.
Verify aircraft connects to the CommsBox.
Open Fly PHX.
Plan & Upload Flight
Plan your flight or open a pre-planned flight plan.
Upload the flight plan to the aircraft.
Pre-Flight Checklist
Perform a thorough and complete pre-flight checklist.
Arm the aircraft after the checklist is complete.
Launch
Pick up the aircraft and walk to the launch point.
Shake the aircraft to start the motor.
Launch the aircraft by taking a few steps forward and throwing the aircraft straight out with the wings level.

Monitor
Monitor Fly PHX for any warning messages.
Monitor the airspace to ensure there are no manned aircraft or other drones that may be hazardous to operation.
Monitor the aircraft is flying the expected flight plan.
Land
Monitor the Aircraft during the landing pattern.
Ensure the aircraft is not going to hit any obstacles during final approach.
Be prepared to use the landing abort feature if necessary.
Remove the battery from the aircraft after landing, before picking up the aircraft.
